Lack of Direction in Life?

Life can move along quickly – one minute you have a 5 year plan, and the next, it’s 15 years later and your plan is either out dated or not achieved.  Sometimes in life we ask the bigger philosophical questions ‘who am I?’, ‘what have I achieved?’, ‘what do I want to achieve?’, ‘should I have done things differently?’.

These thoughts may or may not be causing you distress, but having an opportunity to consider these in an environment not influenced by the plans or opinions of other’s in your life can be useful.  In the UK we are starting to see an increase in people seeing the utility of therapy to get a better sense of who they are and how to develop themselves, yet it has been fairly common to access therapy in the USA for this purpose for a number of years. Therapy does not need to be accessed purely to work on mental health diagnoses, in fact, it is suggested that accessing therapy at a time when you are not in ‘need’ of someone to talk to, may in fact build a better understanding of your strengths, weaknesses and generally build resilience for any difficult future events.
